The Author
Take a results-driven Interactive Art Director, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, and Writer who has a lot of positive eccentricities with some humor and what do you get? The limitless ingenuity of Jordan Crowl.
Jordan is a children’s book author and illustrator who loves bringing characters to life with engaging colorful character building worlds. He writes and illustrates stories that spark laughter, curiosity, and a sense of adventure in young readers that help personal growth. He is taking character building words to another level. Jordan has always been an illustrator and started sketching at a very young age and has never stopped—now he uses pencils, paints, and digital tools to tell stories that kids and grown-ups can enjoy together. When he’s not sketching or writing, you can find him searching for story ideas in in words of character, past childhood experiences, and his now grown up children's past dramatic routines.
Jordan lives in Georgia with his wife, a very talkative German-Shepherd, and an ever-growing collection of comic books.
About Ed's Journal
This fun and engaging comic book-style adventure brings a Choose Your Own Adventure feel to the book, keeping young readers excited and involved. With vibrant illustrations and interactive storytelling, each journey is filled with humor, surprises, and meaningful lessons about the core theme of each story. Along the way, readers meet a cast of diverse and relatable characters, each offering a unique perspective and personality that help build a strong emotional connection. By placing readers directly in the heart of the story, the book fosters understanding, empathy, and curiosity—all while making learning an exciting adventure.
The Stories
Each adventure is built around a character word—such as courage, kindness, or honesty—that helps young readers explore and understand important values. These words come to life through relatable, recognizable characters that readers can identify with, creating a sense of connection and familiarity. By placing each character in a thoughtfully designed environment, the story deepens the reader's understanding of the character trait being explored. This approach not only makes the learning experience fun and engaging but also helps children build a strong foundation in character development that lasts beyond the story.
